This is a 9'6" Waimea Bay gun made for Myles Padaca, a well-known Hawaiian surfer and one of my team riders from the Big Island. It features a Big Island volcano airbrush by Barry Tagge, along with rounded roving, built-in stiffeners, and glass-on fins. It is a beautiful board and a strong example of this design.
I also made a 10'6" version, and I rode that board on one of my best days ever at Waimea. Cheyne Horan and I paddled out on a blown-out day and ended up getting about two hours of 45- to 50-foot waves with no one else out. This 9'6" is Myles’ board from that same period.
