This is an early 1980s tri-fin shortboard with glass-on foam fins. It was built from extruded styrofoam made in Japan by Dow Chemical. Gary began importing this foam and using it for windsurfers as well as some excellent surfboards.
That same type of foam later became known under the XTR label, and it has remained one of the best surfboard materials. This board is an early example of that construction.
