Early 1980s tri-fin with glass-on foam fins, built from extruded styrofoam made in Japan by Dow Chemical. Gary started importing that foam for windsurfers and it turned out to make excellent surfboards.
The same material runs today under the XTR label. It has outlasted nearly everything else.
An early example of a construction that stuck.
